In the first months of 2010, NEU Hospital, which will be opened in Nicosia and will be the first private medical faculty hospital in Cyprus, was introduced in London.

Speaking at the meeting held at the TRNC LONDON REPRESENTATION last Wednesday evening, Ahmet Savaşan, Director of Near East Tourism and Travel Enterprises, said that he came together with the press members in London in order to inform the Turkish Cypriots living in the UK. Savaşan said, “NEU Hospital is planned to have the medical infrastructure, staff and technological competence to meet all the health needs of international patients, especially our compatriots living in the UK, as well as those living in Cyprus.”.

Speaking at the meeting, Ahmet Savaşan stated that the PET/CT nuclear device used in cancer research is not even available in the Greek part of Cyprus and said, “Our university, which has realized many innovations and firsts in Cyprus, will continue this tradition in the health sector and build the hospital with the highest capacity in the country, I would like to give the good news that the first and only Radiology Center in the country (Rapid MRI Technology), Nuclear Medicine Center with PET/CT and Gamma Camera, laboratories where all tests can be performed and which will be a reference, the first and only ambulance plane will be offered to the service of our compatriots living in the UK with RİS and LİS digital operating systems.”

Ahmet Savaşan stated that NEU Hospital will serve its patients abroad with a special ambulance plane.

Savaşan noted that an International Patient Coordination Center was established within the NEU Hospital, which will be operated in an international hospital concept, in order to provide hospital services from abroad. Savaşan said, “This center will plan the transportation of foreign patients to Northern Cyprus, their accommodation, tours and transfers within the country, ensure that patients communicate in their own language and coordinate the safe return of patients to their countries after their health is restored. The transportation, accommodation and social needs of the relatives of the patients who come to Northern Cyprus with their patients will also be met by this center.

Ahmet Savaşan said that NEU Hospital will cooperate with Hacettepe Hospital in Ankara and specialized doctors from Turkey will come to the hospital and provide services. Savaşan said that in 2009, the university's External Medicine
